product description
Density
The density of liquid carbon dioxide varies with pressure and temperature but is approximately 0.9 g/cm³ (900 kg/m³) at 20°C (68°F) and 60 atm (approximately 6.9 MPa).
Phase Transition
Liquid CO2 turns into its gaseous state at atmospheric pressure with a boiling point of -78.5°C (-109.3°F). It can also solidify into dry ice at lower temperatures and higher pressures.
Solubility
Liquid carbon dioxide is not very soluble in water but is miscible with many organic solvents.
Compressibility
Liquid CO2 is highly compressible, meaning its volume can be significantly reduced by increasing the pressure.
Viscosity
The viscosity of liquid carbon dioxide is relatively low, similar to that of other gases.
Thermal Conductivity
Liquid CO2 has a low thermal conductivity, which is beneficial in applications such as cooling and insulation.
Critical Point
The critical point of carbon dioxide is at a pressure of 73.8 atm (7.39 MPa) and a temperature of 31.1°C (88.0°F). Above the critical point, CO2 cannot be distinguished as a liquid or a gas.
